New Music On The Point

  • Point CounterPoint 1361 Hooker Road Leicester, VT 05733 (map)

At NMOP 2018, my piece Residue (May 2018) will be premiered and my piece Insecurities (May 2018) will be read.

NMOP 2018:

We are open to participants who work within all contemporary musical aesthetics, as well as those who will interact with our 2018 themes: i.e. composers who also sing vocal chamber music, performers who play notated and improvised music, singers with theatrical experience, etc.

During our program, participants engage in an intensive schedule of instruction, rehearsals, seminars, workshops and nightly concerts. Every day there is time for composing, practicing, rehearsing and spontaneous musical and recreational experiences. Each of the participating composers will have a new chamber work premiered on the final concerts of the Festival and will participate in a reading session with the JACK Quartet, Roomful of Teeth, or our faculty/fellow ensembles. They will also have masterclasses with Master Artist composers, individual lessons with faculty composers and present their own work for feedback from faculty and peers.

Faculty and Master Artist performers give individual lessons as well as coaching chamber works, leading workshops and presenting seminars on their professional work. Faculty performers “coach from within” on the participant composer works. Each performer will perform on at least one faculty composer’s work and will have several faculty-coached ensembles to participate in.
